The film opens with Detective Thomas "Turk" Cowan (De Niro) staring into the camera confessing to the murders of 14 people. Turk's "confessions" narrate the story.
Turk and his partner, David "Rooster" Fisk (Pacino), are working on taking down a drug-dealing club owner called Spider (50 Cent). They plant a wire on a female lawyer caught using drugs, purchased from Spider, but Spider becomes suspicious and finds it. Turk and Rooster rush into Spider's office and get her out, but not before Spider's bodyguard aims a gun at them and a shootout begins. Spider's man is killed and the lawyer gets shot as well. Turk handcuffs Spider and beats him until being pulled away by Rooster.
Turk and Rooster are ordered by their lieutenant (Brian Dennehy) to begin sessions with a therapist. The doctor gives the cops notebooks to write down whatever feelings they have.
In court, a rapist that Turk had arrested is set free on a technicality; Turk, furious, threatens the suspect. The next scene shows the rape suspect being shot to death in his apartment by an unseen assailant. The killer leaves behind a poem for the detectives to read as a clue. He is just the latest in a line of criminals who have been murdered with a poem left at the scene.
Also investigating the murders are Detectives Perez (Leguizamo) and Riley (Wahlberg). There is tension due to Turk currently dating Perez's ex-girlfriend, Detective Karen Corelli (Carla Gugino). Rooster concludes that due to the lack of struggle in all the recent murders, the killer could be a cop. Perez and Riley become receptive to the idea, while Turk becomes upset.
Rooster and Turk look at a convict they had put away for similar murders, Charles Randall (Frank John Hughes), but it doesn't appear to be him. A flashback reveals that Randall was falsely convicted on a murder charge because Turk, despite Rooster's attempts to stop him, had planted evidence. He did so after Randall was acquitted of a murder that Turk was convinced Randall had actually committed.

Jumper is a 2008 American science fiction film from 20th Century Fox and Regency Enterprises. It is loosely based on the 1992 science fiction novel of the same name by Steven Gould. The film is directed by Doug Liman, director of The Bourne Identity and Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and stars Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, Rachel Bilson, Jamie Bell, Max Thieriot, AnnaSophia Robb, and Diane Lane. The film follows a person capable of teleporting to any location as he is chased by a secret group intent on killing him.
The script went through a rewrite prior to filming and the roles for the main characters were changed during production. Jumper was filmed in 20 cities in 14 countries between 2006 and 2007. The film was released on February 14, 2008 and a soundtrack was released on February 19. The film held the first position in its opening weekend with $27.3 million, despite mostly negative reviews. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes recorded a 16% approval rating and 35/100 on Metacritic. Several novels were developed as tie-ins to the film along with a video game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and Wii consoles, named Jumper: Griffin's Story. The DVD was released on June 10, 2008, and both Christensen and Liman have spoken of one or more sequels.

DRAGON WAR
Originally titled Dragon Wars (and still referred to by this title in publicity material), D-War has a long production history in South Korea. The film was announced in 2002 by director Shim Hyung-rae as his follow-up project to 1999'sYonggary. A show reel appeared in early 2003,[citation needed] showcasing the extensive amount of CGI the production would be using to create the various creatures. Despite heavy promotion via posters, press releases and videos, principal photography did not begin until October 2004, continuing through December.[citation needed] The budget was set at approximately $33 million (30 billion won), but ultimately went over budget in order to create the various creatures in the film, with some outside estimates as high as $75 million dollars. The DVD release confirmed that it did indeed cost $75 million.
As with Yonggary, Shim opted for a mostly American cast. Veteran actor Robert Forster landed a pivotal role and Jason Behr and Amanda Brooks were cast as the two young leads.
The next three years were spent creating the creature effects, all of which were done in house by Shim's Younggu-Art Movies company. The completed film premiered at the American Film Market in early 2007. The film was released in South Korea on August 1, 2007. In the U.S., the film was released on September 14, 2007.
On August 7, 2007, South Korea's MBC Morning Live TV Show broadcast the film's final scene on TV without the permission of the studio, causing a controversy. A few days later the Ministry of Culture and Tourism released a statement in which they said that the incident did not violate South Korean copyright laws

AMERICAN BEAUTY
American Beauty is a 1999 American dark comedy film, directed by Sam Mendes and written by Alan Ball. Kevin Spacey plays Lester Burnham, a middle-aged office worker who has a midlife crisis after becoming infatuated with his teenage daughter's best friend. The film co-stars Annette Bening and Thora Birch as Lester's wife and daughter respectively. Mena Suvari, Wes Bentley and Chris Cooper also feature. American Beauty marked acclaimed theater director Mendes' film directorial debut; it was also Ball's first produced film screenplay. The film was financed by DreamWorks, which bought Ball's spec script for a six-figure sum in 1998.

Spacey was Mendes' first choice for the role of Lester Burnham, though DreamWorks had urged the director to consider more well-known actors; similarly, the studio suggested several actors for the role of Carolyn—Lester's wife—until Mendes cast Bening without DreamWorks' knowledge. Principal photography took place between December 1998 and February 1999 on soundstages at the Warner Bros. backlot in Burbank, California and on location in Los Angeles. The film underwent several changes during editing that affected its tone and eliminated expository bookend scenes. American Beauty was the best-reviewed American film of 1999, and was positively received by critics and audiences alike; it grossed over $350 million worldwide, won the 1999 Academy Award for Best Picture, and was nominated for and won numerous other awards and honors, mainly for the direction, writing, and acting.

In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale is a 2007 fantasy film supposedly inspired by the Dungeon Siege video game series, which was directed by Uwe Boll. It was produced by Brightlight Pictures and distributed by Freestyle Releasing in the United States. 20th Century Fox took distribution overseas. The MPAA granted the film a "PG-13" for "intense battle sequences". In the Name of the King was released in the United States on January 11, 2008.
